Teen BASC‑3 screening.
The BASC‑3 Teen Screening is a gentle, evidence‑based assessment we use to build a clear picture of a young person’s emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and day‑to‑day experiences. It helps us understand areas such as attention, mood, social confidence, stress, and self‑regulation, giving a rounded view of how a teen is coping both in and outside of school. The BASC‑3 is not a diagnosis; instead, it highlights patterns that may benefit from support and guides us in tailoring counselling to each young person’s needs. It is designed to feel accessible and non‑judgemental, offering teens a safe way to express what life feels like for them.
One To One Session
As part of our initial assessment, we combine the BASC‑3 Teen Screening with a supportive one‑to‑one session. The BASC‑3 gives us a structured, evidence‑based overview of a young person’s emotional wellbeing, attention, behaviour, and stress levels. We then bring this together with a relaxed conversation where the teen can share their experiences in their own words. This blended approach allows us to build a rounded, accurate understanding of what they’re finding difficult — and what strengths they already have — so we can tailor counselling to their needs from the very first session.

⬇️ Step 2 — Teen 1:1 Session A supportive, private space for the young person to share their experiences.
⬇️ Step 3 — BASC‑3 Teen Screening The teen completes the BASC‑3 to help identify patterns in mood, attention, stress, and behaviour. (Parent BASC‑3 optional but recommended.)
⬇️ Step 4 — Assessment Review We bring together insights from the parent session, teen session, and BASC‑3 results.
